YupTrack Cookie Policy

Effective Date: October 22, 2026

Last Updated: October 22, 2026

1. Introduction

YupTrack, Inc. (“YupTrack,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to transparency regarding how cookies and similar technologies are used on our public-facing website.

This Cookie Policy describes the cookies we use on publicly accessible pages of https://yuptrack.com (the “Website”).

This policy does not cover cookies or other technologies that may be necessary to operate YupTrack's authenticated educational investment management platform. Those technologies are described in the “Cookies and sessions” section of our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website.

They help websites perform essential functions, remember preferences, and maintain security.

Cookies may be temporary (session cookies) or remain on your device for a specified period (persistent cookies).

3. Cookies We Use

Every cookie we set is functional: it either keeps you signed in, keeps the Website secure, or remembers a choice you made.

These cookies may be used to:

  • Maintain website security and protect against malicious activity.
  • Support essential navigation and website functionality.
  • Keep you signed in after you choose to sign in.
  • Remember choices you make, such as display preferences.

These cookies are not used for advertising or behavioral profiling.

The names, purposes, and lifetimes of the application cookies are listed in the “Cookies and sessions” section of our Privacy Policy. The sign-in flow also uses three short-lived functional cookies created by Auth.js: authjs.csrf-token (or __Host-authjs.csrf-token over HTTPS) and authjs.callback-url (or __Secure-authjs.callback-url over HTTPS) last until the browser closes; authjs.pkce.code_verifier (or __Secure-authjs.pkce.code_verifier over HTTPS) lasts 15 minutes.

The landing page uses the session-storage key dbc-hero-play-hint-v1 only to avoid repeating an interaction hint in the same tab. The demo funnel keeps a random correlation value only in memory for the life of the page. It sends that value with anonymous demo-funnel (landing.*) events to /api/demo/event, where the events are stored on the server, without using any cookie or browser storage. Public pages do not create the dbc_anon_id analytics identifier.

Public research pages set the first-party cookie viewed_<research id> for one hour to count one view per research note per hour, so refreshing does not count as a second read.

4. No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising Cookies

We do not set third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not load third-party trackers on the Website. We do not use cookies for:

  • Targeted advertising.
  • Cross-site behavioral advertising.
  • Advertising retargeting.
  • Selling visitors’ browsing activity to advertisers.

We will update this Cookie Policy, and introduce any consent mechanism the law requires, before introducing any materially different tracking purposes.

5. Student and Institutional Data Protection

YupTrack provides educational technology designed for student-managed investment funds.

Our public-facing Website is separate from the educational activities conducted through the authenticated YupTrack platform.

Nothing in this policy authorizes the use of protected education records for marketing purposes.

6. Cookie Consent and Visitor Choices

Because the Website uses only functional cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If we ever introduce optional cookies, we will ask for consent first where the law requires it.

Most browsers let you see, block, and delete cookies in their settings. If you block or delete the cookies described above, you may be signed out and your saved preferences may be reset, and some features, such as signing in, may not work.

7. Cookie Retention

Cookies are retained only for periods appropriate to their operational purposes. The lifetime of each application cookie is listed in the “Cookies and sessions” section of our Privacy Policy; the temporary Auth.js sign-in cookies are described in section 3 above.

8. Third-Party Cookies

We do not allow advertisers or analytics companies to set cookies on the Website. If you choose to sign in with Google, you are sent to Google’s own sign-in page, which sets its own cookies under Google’s policies.

9. International Visitors

Visitors may access YupTrack’s public-facing Website from different jurisdictions.

Where applicable, YupTrack will implement cookie and privacy controls consistent with relevant laws, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), applicable United Kingdom privacy requirements, and United States state privacy laws.

10. Changes to This Cookie Policy

YupTrack may revise this policy when website technologies or legal requirements change.

The updated policy will display a revised “Last Updated” date.

Where legally required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before introducing materially different tracking practices.
